The Ministry of External Affairs is proud to announce the launch of the Pravasi Bharatiya Express, a state-of-the-art Tourist Train exclusively designed for the Indian Diaspora (PIOs only). This unique initiative, commemorating the return of Mahatma Gandhi from South Africa to India on January 9, 1915, will connect participants to their roots and India’s rich cultural heritage.

Tour Highlights:

• Launch Date: January 9, 2025, from Safdarjung Railway Station, New Delhi

• Duration: 3 weeks

• Destinations: Ayodhya, Patna, Gaya, Varanasi, Mahabalipuram, Rameshwaram, Madurai, Kochi, Goa, Ekta Nagar (Kevadia), Ajmer, Pushkar, and Agra

• Capacity: 156 passengers

• Eligibility: PIOs aged 45-65 years under the Pravasi Teerth Darshan Yojana (PTDY)

Organized in collaboration with Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), this exclusive train promises a memorable journey through India’s touristic and religious landmarks.
