MISCELLANEOUS CONSULAR ATTESTATION SERVICES

VFS Global is the service provider for Miscellaneous Consular services for the Consulate General of India, Houston from 1st August 2025. 

All the applicants under the Consular Jurisdiction of the Consulate General of India, Houston (those living in Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas) seeking Miscellaneous Consular services may visit the link https://services.vfsglobal.com/usa/en/ind for details.

Apart from the applicable Government of India fees, the applicants will also be required to pay US$ 19.00 as service charge to VFS Global and US$ 2 as contribution to Indian Community Welfare Fund (ICWF).

The details of the VFS Global Application Centre in the consular jurisdiction of Consulate General of India, Houston are as under:

It may be noted that Applications will be accepted by post and in-person.

Operational Days: Monday to Saturday, 9:00 to 03:30 hours EST

Consulate would continue to offer services like death certificates for Indian nationals and life certificates for pensioners directly to the applicants as per extant practice. However, in case the applicants wish to avail these services from VFS Global, they can avail the same as any other miscellaneous consular service from VFS Global on payment of the applicable service fee.

Please note No Commercial Documents are attested by the Consulates. The same should be apostilled from US Government Authorities for presenting in India.

The Consulate does not attest any document issued by authorities in India. If any document issued by authorities in India such as birth and death certificates, affidavits, educational documents/diplomas, marriage certificate, Driving License etc. are required to be presented to authorities in USA, those should be apostilled in India. For details, please check the website “Legalization of Documents” at http://www.mea.gov.in/apostille-menu.htm.

It is mandatory for the documents issued by the US Government authorities to be apostilled by the relevant authorities in the USA before presenting the document for attestation at the Consulate.
